when journeys collide
I think I'm experiencing a harmonic convergence of fate or something. In a matter of a few days, I've come in contact with some friends I haven't seen in 14 years or so. It seems weird, even surreal. I openned the paper and the face of a long lost friend was staring at me, same smile and hair style. I had to email her. We talked today and she handed the phone to another old friend, my high school drama teacher's wife. Unreal! And to make it even more strange, we all live within five miles of each other in Abilene Texas. I can only imagine why God brought our paths together again, but I'm glad he did. A lot has changed in my life since our paths split.
When Sam and I were good friends, she was one of my party buds. She has seen a side of me that most have not. The Ainsworths were the "cool" teachers and they too have seen a side of me that hasn't been open for public view in more than 10 years. Since I knew them, I've become a disciple of Jesus, and God only knows where their journeys have wound. I guess I'll find out if I'm truly a new creation in Christ, or if I need to give God a little more lattitude.
